Yep, this is THAT SANTA CLAUS (1959) movie, that you’ve probably heard about. If you think SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS (1964) was trippy, this is a whole different kind of surreal! Santa is assisted by child labor from around the world and Merlin the Magician to spread joy. His reindeer are mechanical giant toys, and they have a laugh (really!) that will creep you the HELL out. Speaking of Hell, Lucifer is well represented here as well, in the form of his minion Pitch, who tries to spread naughtiness by telling kids to steal toys and throw rocks at Santa. It’s Good vs Evil as never before. Oh, and it WAS this one that was on MST3K. Enjoy!
