Greetings Friends and Fiends.
Ye Old Dragon here with sad news. It’s my unhappy duty to once again bring word of the passing from someone of the World of Imagination. Noel Neill, the first on-screen Lois Lane, has passed away at the age of 95.
Ms. Neill originated the role in the original Columbia Superman Serials and took over the part on TV, after Phyllis Coates departed THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN after the first season. Ms. Neill also had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in Richard Donner’s SUPERMAN (1978). She was the mother of the little girl on the train who waved to Clark as he ran alongside. What was deleted, was that it was young Lois Lane. So Ms. Neil also played Lois’ mother as well as Lois. My thoughts are with her friends, family and thousands of fans.
…End of Line…
