* BE WARNED! *
THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD FOR AGE OF ULTRON #10.
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT YET AND WISH TO BE SURPRISED,
TURN BACK NOW!!!
OK, normally I wait until Fridays for Spoiler Alert, but this week’s is kind of big! Plus, these might not be so much spoilers, as opposed to confirmations..
Well, it’s here! The ending of the Age of Ultron Saga was unleashed today There are quite a few outcomes of this series. As was suspected, there are many repercussions of too much time-travel and altering fates and outcomes. Especially compounded by Wolverine’s killing Hank Pym in the past, thus creating an alternate timeline, then going back and stopping himself from killing Pym to prevent said timeline and then having to kill his own future self and leaving that body in the past and I’ve gone cross-eyed. Basically, Wolverine broke time. This is why we can’t have nice things.
Some repercussions are immediate, some are possibilities that have been speculated on. Let’s look at them –
As was revealed months ago, former Spawn cast member ANGELA has indeed crossed over into the Marvel Universe, and she’s none to happy about it.
Universal rifts are opened in both time AND space. There are shots of several past timelines and worlds from different eras of Marvel Comics, even going back to a shot of Ben Grimm as Blackbeard the Pirate (Waaaaaaay back in FANTASTIC FOUR (vol 1) #5, back in 1961!) Visions of the Squadron Supreme, House of M, 2099 and Marvel Zombies were shown.
Notice I included 2099. Now, a few months back, before the secret of Superior Spider-Man was revealed, the name Miguel O’Hara was ‘accidentally’ tweeted by Spider-Scribe Dan Slott. There’s a prominent shot of Miguel. Time is just as messed up as space is and Slott has SAID that Miguel is indeed coming. This is probably how he arrives, but we have yet to see the exact cause & effect.
Finally, here’s the biggest confirmation of all. Back in the July solicitations, Marvel listed something cryptically titled “Age of Ultron 10UC” with a graphic of the word “Hunger” in purple letters. When the August solicits came out, it was revealed that the series’ name was indeed Hunger. The speculation was that it had something to do with Galactus, considering purple & hunger pretty much describe the Big G. There was text accompanying it talking about a rift in the universe. There was speculation that the “UC” in the Ultron title from July stood for “Ultimate Comics”.
So the basic theory was Galactus + Universe Rift + Ultimate Comics = Galactus Invades the Ultimate Universe.
Ummmm. I’d call that a confirmation.
Well, time to check out the rest of this week’s books. Any more spoilers will be posted on Friday, as usual.
